Making tornadoes

Picture it, the wind was blowing heavy, our lights were flickering, and the rain was thick. Perfect timin for Miss Coon to hold a ‘lets’s make a tornado’ science experiment activity session, right? Well, the Preps took like absolute troopers. So what if we lost the lights due to the power going out for a little bit… It only made it a real adventure 🙂

What did we use?

  • small water bottle
  • blue food colouring
  • a bit of dish washing detergent
  • our muscles to ‘shake, shake, shake!’

These were an absolute hit! Another step-by-step process that we did well at and we were rewarded for our efforts with our very own tornado.

Making magic milk!

Did you know milk can be magical? The preps experienced milk in a magical way today. The students are certainly loving the science aspect of creating memories in learning our sounds.

Did you know that milk can be magical?

Milk, milk, on the ground, who is the messiest of them all?

This week Prep B put on their imaginary lab coats to investigate how milk could be considered magical. To do this, we used:

  • longlife milk
  • assorted colours of food dye
  • cotton buds
  • washing detergent

With our powers combined, we watched in awe as the coloured milk swirls dispersed into pretty, then icky, swirls. It was the coolest, thing, EVER!
